Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre wanted to celebrate and highlight Diwali, the festival of lights. We were hired as the event designers to create an engaging mall activation for the Vaughan Mills customers. We dreamed up a beautiful Diwali mall activation that guests would want to take a photo with.
Diwali Mall Activation – The Symbolism
The main lotus display was the highlight, consisting of vibrant colours for the Diwali season, reflective gold to look like light, and petal designs that looked like flames. Lotus flowers are typically seen at Diwali for their symbolism of purity, prosperity, and fertility. We created this custom-built and double-sided lotus as the feature element of the Diwali mall display.
Diya candles are typically used in Diwali to represent the triumph of light over dark and good over evil. We designed two diya candles with a colour-changing LED flame.
Additionally for Diwali, colourful rangoli patterns typically adorn households, representing the happiness, positivity and liveliness of a household, and is intended to welcome wealth and good luck. We designed our floor vinyl graphic with vibrant golden yellow, featuring bright rangoli patterns to welcome luck and prosperity to our Diwali display. All in all, it was a memorable and unique mall activation that the customers loved. Photos by Indigo Events.

This Diwali display featured a double sided design, so whether customers came from one side or the other side of the hallway, they could take a photo of the display.
