We at Rebecca Chan Weddings & Events had such a fabulous 2015 year of planning and celebrations with even more fabulous couples. We thank you for trusting in us and giving us the honour to celebrate with you. Here were some of 2015’s most favourite wedding moments and details from this past wedding season. You can see our updated Featured Galleries with more. Click on the images below to see the full wedding day.
Most epic decor set up
You know, because couples just lounge around on beautiful vintage sofas in the middle of a park.
This bride had the vision for a grand vintage victorian inspired wedding with many gorgeous details (like this couch photo!) and we used her personal collection of over 100 pieces of vintage and antique pieces as centrepieces and decor, alongside vintage rentals, and beautiful flowers. Each centrepiece arrangement was carefully crafted with mismatched but complimenting pieces. It wasn’t that the decor was over the top, it was the intricate details of it that made it so epic.
It took our team many hours to unpack and pack up all of her beautiful pieces! Photographer: Renaissance Studios
Most dresses
It’s very common in Chinese weddings to have two or three dress changes.
This bride not only had one wedding dress for the day, but FIVE dresses to change into throughout the wedding. This one was my favourite from the night. See all of the dresses in the wedding gallery (click the image). Photographer: Joee Wong Photography
Most last minute (and most extravagant!)
Most weddings take about 10 months to a year to plan, sometimes more.
This couple came to me with 12 days before the wedding day with nothing booked, not even a venue but with extravagant plans in mind.
It was one of three weddings this year that came together in less than two months (this is one and this is the other), but this wedding was also the most over the top in decor for a 10-person celebration. Yes, 10 people! It was beyond gorgeous! Photographer: Carly Mills Photography
Most quirky
Couples often play the shoe game with their, well, shoes.
This creative couple blew up their faces on giant boards and used those instead as a fun alternative. They also entered into their reception in true WWE fashion with the belts and music, as they were both big fans of wrestling and had a slow motion video booth for guests. It was a heck of a lot of fun! Photographer: Olive Studio
Most whimsical
It is the most rewarding when a couple dreams with you and allows you the creative freedom to make it happen. I had so much fun dreaming up hot air balloon centrepieces, peach picnic decor and beautiful details with this bride and groom!
The hot air balloon centrepieces were just perfect and don’t even get me started on the bride’s blush Lazaro gown! Photographer: Lisa Mark Photography.
Most kilometres travelled
I work with many couples who live abroad and get married in Toronto as part of the Full Planning service for out of town couples.
Some live as close as Ottawa and some are overseas in the UK. This couple takes the cake for planning their wedding with me all the way from Vietnam. Their casual, yet elegant celebration at the Fifth Bar and Grill was a lot of fun. Photographer: Aron Goss Photography
Most stylish groom
Most weddings are all about the bride. While this bride was certainly stunning in her Monique Lhuillier dress, her groom was equally dressed to the nines in his bespoke tux, dress shirt, bowtie AND shoes. They are one good looking couple! Photographer: Brandon Scott Photography
Most stylish couple
Beyond just stylish grooms, there is something to be said about couples that dress to match. This groom flew to NYC to get his own pair of Louboutins, for matching bride and groom Loubies. Love it! Photographer: Ikonica
Those were some pretty fabulous weddings and we were so thrilled to have been a part of each and every one of them. We also can’t wait to see our 2016 weddings come to fruition! Thanks for tuning in.
